At Otsego Local Schools, we believe that athletics are more than just games; they are a vital extension of our academic and educational mission. Our athletics programs aim to foster a spirit of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance among students, while also enhancing their academic performance and personal growth. Participating in sports teaches valuable life lessons such as leadership, time management, and the importance of physical fitness.
Our Athletics Department is dedicated to supporting every student-athlete in achieving their fullest potential, both on and off the field. In the fall of 2024, the Athletic Director position was cut to save money. The roles/responsibilities of the Athletic Director were divided across many other positions within the district. To ensure a comprehensive and supportive environment, our department is structured with dedicated professionals each specializing in different facets of athletics:

Tom Ferdig, Assistant Principal (6-12) - Transportation Liaison, Coverage Coordinator, End of Season Surveys (Final Forms), League Meetings, MyOHSAA, Evaluating Head Coaches.
Ashley Braucksieck, High School Principal - Parent Complaints Regarding High School Coaches/Athletics, Coaches Questions/Dilemmas, Special Recognitions (Parades, Clapouts), Social Media Pages, College Signings (Decision Day), Sign off on coaching Supplementals.
Jon Rife, Junior High Principal - Parent Complaints Regarding Junior High School Coaches/Athletics, Coach's Questions/Dilemmas, Special Recognitions (Parades, Claps outs), Social Media Posts, Sign-off on coaching Supplementals.
