Supporting Student Growth & Well-Being

The School Counseling office at Otsego High School offers a professionally trained guidance office available to assist students with their personal/social, academic and career development needs. It is our desire to guide and lead students in a manner to which they can achieve a strong mind and strong character as they navigate the high school years and beyond.

Our High School Counseling Department supports students in the following ways:

📚 Academic Support – Assisting students with course selection, graduation requirements, credit checks, study skills, organization, time management, and goal-setting to stay on track for graduation.

🫶 Personal & Social Growth – Supporting students as they navigate friendships, stress, decision-making, conflict resolution, and overall mental health and well-being during their high school years.

🎓 College & Career Readiness – Guiding students through career exploration, postsecondary planning, college and military options, workforce pathways, college applications, scholarships, financial aid, and future goal planning.

🚨 Crisis & Intervention Services – Providing timely support during personal or school-related crises and connecting students and families with appropriate resources. For immediate help, students and families may contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.

🎗️ Programs & Initiatives – Coordinating school-wide initiatives such as social-emotional learning activities, prevention programs, awareness campaigns, and student support services tailored to high school needs.

🧑🏻‍🏫 Family & Community Partnerships – Collaborating with families, teachers, and community partners to support student success, engagement, and post-high school readiness.
